Xiaomi , the Chinese smartphone manufacturing company termed as the "Apple of China" which is currently the 3rd largest smartphone manufacturer in the world is set to expand their business to some part of  Africa with Nigeria inclusive.

Xiaomi global strategy director made it known that they are planning to expand their business in three different African countries and the countries  are, Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa. Though Xiaomi said that they wont stop in just these three mentioned countries that they will keep on expanding to other African countries.

The smartphones will start rolling out in the middle of November with MIA (Mobile In Africa )  as the full distributor.

 “We see Africa as the next frontier for smartphone growth and we are excited to be partnering with MIA Group to offer consumers in these three countries our high-quality smartphones at amazing prices.

The smartphones that will go on-sale include the Redmi 2 and Mi 4. The Mi 4 is going to cost $320 which is around N63,800 while the Redmi note 2 will cost $160  that is N32,000  .

The smartphone as earlier said will be sold online by MIA.

We’ve seen a strong response to the products based on preliminary discussions with partners, and we look forward to providing consumers with these new high-end smartphone options at incredible price points”. MIA Group president RJ van Spaandonk said.
